Join Us for the Aiken County Democratic Party Convention!

The Aiken County Democratic Party Convention will be held on Sunday, March 8, at the Lessie Price Senior & Youth Center, 841 Edgefield Ave NW, Aiken, SC.

Doors open at noon, and the convention will be called to order at 1 PM.

Community is our strength, and together, we’re building the future. Join us to connect with fellow Democrats, share ideas, and get fired up for what’s ahead. We’ll have bottled water, snacks, great conversation, and plenty of time to catch up with old friends and welcome new folks.

Pre-registering allows you to use the express check-in line for quick entry. If you wait to register at the convention, you’ll need to go through on-site processing, which may take extra time.

Below is an explanation of the convention business. Please note that there have been a few changes in the SCDP Rules in recent years.

1. Any Democrat registered to vote in Aiken County may attend the county convention as a delegate.

2. You can sign up as a County Executive Committee Member (or Alternate), also known as Precinct Executive Committee, representing each precinct for a two-year term. The County Executive Committee Member (or Alt) will serve as a precinct leader and voting member of the ACDP Executive Committee. 

Note: If you wish to file to serve as your precinct Executive Committee Member, please fill out this form.

3. The county convention shall elect up to 60 state convention delegates and 12 alternates for a one-year term. These state delegates and alternates may attend the SCDP state convention in Columbia on May 31, 2025. If you would like to serve as a state convention delegate, please be prepared to let us know at check-in. You will then receive the form to complete and return to us at the convention.

4. The convention shall elect officers and state executive committee members. Democrats may file to run for a position as a county party officer. The filing period for county party officers is open from February 20 through March 6 at 5 pm.

*As stated in the SCDP Rules, the county party secretary and treasurer are elected at the first ACDP Executive Committee meeting after the convention.
