Amended Skilled and Trained Workforce Requirements
Signed by the governor in September, AB 3018 amends the skilled and trained workforce requirements for public contracts in the Public Contract Code. The bill outlines the reporting responsibility of public agencies to the Labor Commissioner, as well as the financial civil penalties for the contractors and subcontractors that do not comply with the enhanced requirements.

To assist in clarifying the obligation and affects AB 3018 has on design professional services, ACEC California will be releasing a guide for members at the beginning of 2019. Please click here to review the bill text and history.

Munzing will advocate on behalf of ACEC California's members, and will be responsible for tying together the organization's policy agenda with political objectives that promote the engineering and land surveying professions.

While we are all saddened to see Kelly Garman go, we are energized by the continuity of our relationship as she continues on as our consultant with Stutzman Public Affairs, and are looking forward to the wealth of knowledge and insight that Tyler will be bringing to ACEC California. We also continue to work with our contract advocacy firm, Nielsen Merksamer Parrinello Gross & Leoni, and together make a great team.
