President's Message

Andre' (Andy) Lauzier, PE

As we go about our daily tasks at work, let us remember that what we will be remembered for is our impact on individuals in our daily lives.

As I close this message, I wanted to take a moment to reflect on a very impactful personal event last week where I attended a memorial service for a friend and colleague in Winter Park, Florida. Jim Lee was the founder of Transportation Consulting Group and had a significant impact on the landscape of our transportation network in Florida and beyond. I had the privilege of working with Jim for many years, but what struck me at his memorial was the impact he had not based on the projects he worked on but rather on the people he worked with and the communities he served.

CE Reporting Now Mandatory for All PEs

All Professional Engineers licensed in Florida must report their continuing education to renew their licenses during the upcoming renewal period. Florida Statutes required this change because the percentage of PEs failing the random CE audit was too high for two consecutive renewal periods.

To renew your PE license for another two years, you are required to report your continuing education using the NCEES Free Tracking System by February 28, 2025.

The current renewal period opens on November 5, 2024. You should start tracking your CEs in the NCEES Tracking System as soon as you earn them. Once you have earned all 18 required hours, starting on November 5, 2024, you can report your CEs to the Florida Board of Professional Engineers (FBPE) using the NCEES Tracking System. The deadline is February 28, 2025. Do not send your report directly to FBPE.

To track your CEs, log in to the NCEES Tracking System, enter the information on the courses you have taken, and upload your certificates.

To download certificates you have earned through ACEC Florida, log in to your Member Profile. Click on Welcome ---> Account & Settings ---> Professional Development.

Although ACEC Florida provides certificates for all approved courses, you will need more information than what is stated on the certificate. Click the button below to access these details for all in-person and online courses ACEC Florida has offered since March 2023.

If you need assistance downloading certificates from your Member Profile, please email us at seminars@fleng.org.
