2017 AIA CONTRACT DOCUMENTS: 
INSIGHTS & IMPACTS

The newly released documents at the heart of the AIA Contract Documents program are revised on a 10-year cycle. Presenter Andrew Mendelson, a member of the AIA Documents Committee, will provide attendees with an insight into AIA's revision process, as well as information about the revised Owner-Architect agreements and Architect-Consultant agreements. He will also discuss the updated contract language from business, legal and construction risk perspectives and prepare participants to best select the appropriate AIA contracts for various clients and situations.

GEORGIA TRANSPORTATION SUMMIT

The largest transportation event in the state, the 2017 Georgia Transportation Summit will feature key transportation leaders from GDOT Commissioner Russell McMurry and Chief Engineer Meg Pirkle to MARTA CEO Keith Parker and GRTA/SRTA Executive Director Chris Tomlinson. Spend the day with 1,000+ transportation professionals across the state at this annual event,  hosted as a partnership between ACEC Georgia, GDOT, the Georgia Transportation Alliance and Georgia Chamber of Commerce.

The Aerotropolis Atlanta Community Improvement Districts (CIDs) - encompassing both the Airport West and Airport South CIDs - work to create an economically strong, safe, attractive and vibrant community surrounding the world's most traveled airport: Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International. To achieve these goals, the Aerotropolis, which spans portions of both Clayton and Fulton counties, pursues a strong public safety program and undertakes numerous beautification and infrastructure improvement projects throughout the CID area.

Scholarships Available for 
Student Employees of ACEC Georgia Member Firms

ACEC Georgia awards scholarships to students enrolled in engineering schools in Georgia through the R. Berl Elder Memorial Scholarship Trust. In the last few years, scholarships have been presented to students who are employees of ACEC Georgia member firms and interested in pursuing a career in consulting engineering. 

Additional scholarships are also available to engineering students through the Georgia Engineering Foundation . Deadline to apply is August 31, 2017.
