A Message from the
ACEC/NC Board of Directors

As we enter a new fiscal year, the ACEC/NC team is committed to continual service for our members through events, education, and leadership opportunities. Last year was challenging for many of us individually, as companies, and as a nation. Organizationally, we made intentional shifts to serve as good stewards of your investments by reducing expenses while providing valuable connections through virtual meetings and professional development opportunities.

For the upcoming fiscal year, the ACEC/NC Board of Directors reviewed our financial needs and approved a three percent (3%) annual dues increase. This decision was not made lightly and reflects our forecasted needs to continue to provide the same level of service to our members that you have come to expect.

This new annual dues amount will be reflected in your forthcoming invoice, which was sent to your office point of contact via email on July 6.

Welcome to the 2021-2022 fiscal year. As we close out last year and start the next, so many things have changed in our daily lives and the life of ACEC/NC. Our state continues to open up, allowing many of us to see one another in person. For us, that means EVENTS, and we can’t wait to tell you about some of the great ones we have planned for the coming months. For the industry overall, the return to life as we knew it also means a return to business. We continue to hear from members across the state and applaud each of your successes. As always, we are your advocate and your champion—please let us know if we can ever be of assistance to you.

Our Summer Conference will feature several remarkable guest speakers of different backgrounds and experiences. Chandra's expertise in business management makes her a great asset to this year's conference. She will be providing insight on techniques and methods that businesses can use to assure that they thrive in any economy.

ACEC Secures Partial PPP Relief, Continuing to Pursue Broader Fix

The House-passed transportation and water infrastructure bill, the INVEST in America Act (H.R. 3684), includes a provision to narrow the impact of credit for forgiven Paycheck Protection Program loans on firms working for State Departments of Transportation.

This month's Membership Spotlight highlights Cary-based firm Aerial Analytics, LLC. The small team offers dynamic technology services either as a third-party provider to existing operations or a consultative outsourced partner for North Carolina professionally licensed companies.
Aerial Analytics' offers survey and engineering grade UAV LiDAR platforms to enable highly accurate measurements and 3D point clouds. These measurements reduce cycle-time, enhance safety, and ultimately lower construction project costs throughout the project life-cycle. The Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) allow Aerial Analytics to offer four different types of data collection services: UAV-Based Aerial 3D LiDAR, asset inspection with infrared and thermal imaging, multi-spectral environmental inspection, and optical gas imaging. Support services also include pre-development, site work, construction validation, and commissioning.

Some notable and recent projects in which Aerial Analytics has offered their state of the art technology analysis are for the 92-acre Fenton mixed-use development project in Cary, the Durham Bulls Athletic Park, and right of way analysis for a North Carolina based electrical utility company.
