A Special Note from Our New President and CEO, Mike Thompson
Looking forward to a strong year for ACEC OK
As we enter a new calendar year, I’m optimistic about 2021 and the future of ACEC OKLAHOMA! I am humbled for putting your trust in me to serve as your new President and CEO. I have ambitious goals to grow our organization and implement our new strategic plan over the next 2 years. I want to increase the impact and benefit to members while building on the reputation we have in Oklahoma and nationally.

Before I say anything else, I must thank Jim Sullins for his 33 years of dedication and leadership within our organization. I’m grateful Jim will be available to support our leadership transition as an invaluable member of ACEC OKLAHOMA.

If we haven’t had the opportunity to meet, I look forward to our next interaction (hopefully in-person someday soon). Previously, I had the privilege of serving as an Oklahoma State Representative where I was fortunate enough to chair both the Energy and Utility Regulation Committee and the Transportation Committee. I’m a proud, third generation Oklahoma, married to Hayley Thompson. We live in Oklahoma City with our two school aged children, Maddy and Mitchell. You can learn more about me here: Mike Thompson and Associates.

      Introducing Additional Team Member

Evan Handy will be joining our team to help with administration. Evan comes from the political campaign world with a strong administrative background. He managed U.S. Congressional races in Southern California, Oklahoma and Illinois in addition to managing Mick Cornett’s campaign for governor. Most recently he served as Senator Jim Inhofe’s campaign manager. He owns a management, public relations and political consulting firm, the South Creek Group.
COVID-19 Vaccine for Critical Infrastructure Workers
Per Governor Stitt's executive order, engineering consultants are considered essential as part of the phase three rollout of the COVID-19 vaccine. Though the date has yet to be established, you can now sign up at the Oklahoma Department of Health's portal by clicking here.

We will provide more information as the vaccine becomes more available.
2020 Industry Profile from ACEC National
ACEC Research Institute has provided an interesting fact sheet related to our industry with many unique and diverse statistics and infographics. This is part of a larger public awareness campaign in which national will be working hard to assist state member organizations with tools for earned media and association awareness.
