After serving a total of eight years on the ACECL Board of Governors and the last five on the Executive Committee, Andree has contributed so much to our organization and will most certainly leave it better than how she found it.
As 2021-2022 Chairwoman of the Board, Andree led ACECL through two major undertakings. The search for a new president & CEO and a complete overhaul of the organization's by-laws overhaul. These two things, can quite literally, determine the future direction of any organization or business so, to say the least, the pressure was on. That
said, anyone, or should I say everyone, who knows Andree recognized that ACECL
could not have asked for a better person to lead the organization through such
a pivotal time in the history of the organization.
Starting even before she took over as Chair, Andree formed a By-Laws Committee responsible for reviewing ACECL's current by-laws and bringing them into alignment with the evolved vision and purpose of the national federation. A result of the committee's work was a slate of 26 recommended by-law revisions of which almost all were unanimously
adopted by the Board.
Though some may say the jury is still out on her other accomplishment as Chair, I must personally thank Andree for leading the search that ultimately led to ACECL taking a chance on me to serve as its next President & CEO. Her passion for the industry and her belief in this organization resonated with me through the interview process, and I knew I needed to be a part of this incredible team. Her belief in me will forever be a part of my motivation to serve ACECL and our members with all that I am.
I would be remiss to not also thank and recognize our other two board members who complete their terms of service on the Board of Governors this past year. Both Lisa Cookmeyer and Bob Boagni served six years as Members at Large.
During her time on the Board, Lisa served as the Board Liaison for the Water Resources Committee and played a prominent role in the committee's efforts to develop and direct policy related to the implementation of new infrastructure programs like the Louisiana
Watershed Initiative and the Water Sector Program.
Bob played a critical role as the Board Liaison to the Transportation Committee. With his unending knowledge and expertise in the transportation industry and DOTD, Bob was instrumental in the development of ACECL policy positions and recommendations the organization used and will continue to use when advocating on behalf of the consultant community.
On behalf of our staff, the Board of Governors, and our members, please accept our sincere appreciation for your service to ACECL and the entire engineering industry. We are all the better for it.
