2022 Fall Conference/Pinewood Rally Recap
My wife regularly tells me I use way too many cliches, but the one that drives her absolutely crazy is, "You don't know, what you don't know." But this is exactly the thought that came to mind after experiencing my first ACECL Fall Conference.
For almost a year now, I have, or at least thought I had, experienced everything ACECL is as organization and the benefits, services and opportunities we offer our member firms. I now realize I only "knew what I knew." The Fall Conference is truly unique and stands apart from all the other events we host. From project outlooks from the industry's biggest clients to the recognition of the organizations biggest champions and leaders, the conference is really a collection of everything ACECL is and who we are.
I want to extend a special 'Thank You' to all who attended this year's conference, especially our sponsors. speakers and staff, for without them, the event would surely not be possible. If you were not able to attend the conference or would like to review a speaker's presentations, you can access them by clicking the button below

I would also like to again acknowledge all of the award recipients honored at this year's Fall Conference. Each of you make the profession and business of engineering stronger.
- A.E. Wilder Award: Kurt Evans, Digital Engineering
- Robby Cangelosi Award: Scott Schexnayder, T. Baker Smith
- Legislative Champion: Representative Foy Gadberry
- 'Hit It Out The Park' Award: Craig Campbell, ADG
- 2022 Emerging Leaders Institute Class
- 2022 ACEC National Chair Emeritus Award: Kenny Smith, T. Baker Smith
- 2022 ACEC National Young Professional of the Year, Bliss Bernard, GEC
To cap the day off, we held our Inaugural Pinewood Rally to raise money for the ACEC (Federal) PAC. The rally certainly brought some new excitement to the reception, and I know we will have twice as many cars race at next year's event. Congrats to our race winners and all those who support the ACEC PAC by entering a car and/or making "Pick A Car" donations.
- 1st Place: Ralph Junius, Linfield, Hunter and Junius
- 2nd Place: Nathan Junius, Linfield, Hunter and Junius (Seeing a trend here)
- 3rd Place: Janet Landry, ACECL
Being it is the last day of November and the season of giving thanks, I would be remiss not to express how thankful I am for the opportunity to lead an incredible organization like ACECL. The Fall Conference was just a reminded of fortunate I am.
You will no receive another newsletter until after Christmas so wishing you and your families a blessed and merry Christmas!

The Legislative Committee will be meeting one more time before the end of the year to discuss possible legislation ACECL could run in the 2023 Legislative Session. If you would like to be a part of this discussion, I encourage you to sign-up for the committee by clicking the button below.

Proven Performance
Durable understands timber structures and how to protect them, so we use high-quality composite technology and bridge repair methodologies to protect state and local bridges and other timber and concrete structures. The techniques we employ are credited with prolonging the lives of bridges, saving state and local governments significant amounts of money they’d otherwise have to spend on replacing these structures.
Simply put, we know our work, and we know how to deliver excellence. Trust in our team to give you long-lasting, high-quality results!
