ACEs Aware Communications Grant Our ACEs Aware Communications grant focuses on childhood adversity screening and trauma informed care. We will inform California Chapter 1, AAP members about the ACES Aware initiative by augmenting our staffing and expertise in the area of toxic stress and its effects upon child health and development.

Provisional Postpartum Care Education and Extension Program Did you know that the Medi-Cal mothers in your practice with depression may qualify for extended Medi-Cal coverage for up to 12 months after delivery? Provisional Postpartum Care Extension provides an extension of coverage for Medi-Cal or Medi-Cal Access Program (MCAP)  eligible individuals diagnosed with a maternal mental health condition (including but not limited to postpartum depression) during their pregnancy, postpartum period, or within 90 days from the end of the postpartum period. Check out the Safe and Sound website addressing issues of Child Abuse They have a 24 hour talkline to refer patients to at 415-441-KIDS. Check out additional resources from Maternal Mental Health NOW's Emotional Wellness Self-Help Tool, which guides women who are thinking of having a baby, are pregnant, or post-partum in creating a personalized care plan online for themselves.
