I heard of ACEs, but what are PACEs?

Research about thousands of participants in many countries and cultures substantiate the cumulative harmful effects of adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) on health and psychological and social functioning. However, a new study by Sheffield Morris et al. (Adversity and Resilience Science, 2021) studied the role of Protective and Compensatory Experiences or PACEs in childhood to buffer the negative effects of ACEs on later parenting.
