2015 Annual Users' Conference Wrap-Up
"I truly loved learning more about ACEware and its capabilities. Thank you!"

"I learned many things that will make the job easier for me AND FOR MY COLLEAGUES!"

Many thanks to everyone who made our 19th Annual Users' Conference last month in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina such a success!  We all had a great time networking, learning about new features, and even rediscovering old features that you forgot were available (did you know that Student Manager 8.0 has a hidden Tetris-like game?).

One of the most exciting new features unveiled at the conference was a complete redesign of the name and course screens based on suggestions that you offered.  So exciting, in fact, that the room erupted into applause when Matthew announced the change.  And as of Student Manager version 8.0.021, the new screen layout is officially in production!

Other hot topics covered during the conference included data cleanup, modifying email templates, workshop management, ACEweb express registration pages, and multiple ACEweb interfaces.

We also shared the Top Reports Guide and the SOP Template available to Student Manager users.  These can be found in ACEware Resources.

Weren't able to join us?  Be sure to check out the wrap-up webinar that Chuck and Lauri presented last week.

  2. Select Edit >> Paste Name or use the shortcut key Alt+V.
  3. Enter the other Name information (i.e. first name, etc.).
  4. Click the Save button to save the new Name record.

Paste into EXISTING Name Record:
  1. Click the Find button and select the record.
  2. Select Edit >> Paste Name or use the shortcut key Alt+V.
  3. Confirm that you want to overwrite the existing information with the information from the cloned record by clicking Yes on the Overwrite Current Address window.

Optimizing Searches in SM 8
To allow SM 8 to drive either the classic VFP or SQL databases, a new set of "Find" routines have been instituted. They do act differently than the old set, and you have a lot more options in customizing how you choose to search. The two main preferences you'll want to work with are from Preferences/System (1) Autocomplete on search, and (2) Disable 1st Word Search. There is also a preference on the search screen itself: Search Fields on a Begins with basis. Since we believe in the "Show Me" approach to learning, Chuck put together a short video that will give you the help you need to get to your person (or course or Registration) faster! See the video here.
