TOP LEFT- Music Therapy is a weekly activity at The Arc of York County's After School Options Program in York.

TOP RIGHT- M&T Bank presented The Arc of York County with a check for its sponsorship of The Arc Ball and Auction in 2023.

MIDDLE LEFT- This is our friend Michael who works at Weis Markets. The Arc of York County's job coach supports him through follow up services, and is always amazed to see his smiling face and observe his consideration for others. All of the customers seem to know him! Be sure to say "hi" to Michael if you see him working hard while you are shopping!!

MIDDLE RIGHT- This is our friend Jenny. Jenny has been with McDonalds for over 18 years! She is very active in Special Olympics, loves to travel, and was at Disney Land this past year! She was kind enough to send her job coach at The Arc of York County a holiday card – and share the joy of the season with all!

THIRD ROW LEFT- The Arc of York County held its annual Staff Holiday Party at the Outdoor Country Club on December 8. What a great way to start the Holiday Season!

THIRD ROW RIGHT- This is our friend Sarah – she is the face you will see in your local McDonald’s restaurant.

BOTTOM- Our After School Options Program in Red Lion held its Holiday Party last week. We had pizza, jello, chips, cupcakes, and made Grinch kabobs. We also had a lot of fun playing Christmas Bingo!
Thank you #GivingTuesday Donors!!
We were absolutely blown away during Giving Tuesday with everyone's generosity!! Initially it looked like we did not reach our $3,000 goal, however, at the last moment, two additional donors came through and helped us reach $3,100!!

Items purchased with Giving Tuesday funds for the After School Options Programs include:
  • four Chromebooks
  • Art Supplies (glue, paint, glue sticks)
  • Weaving loom
  • Basketball arcade game
  • Air hockey table
  • Hammock swing with indoor frame (see photo)
  • 2 crash mats with covers
  • Supplies for the After School Options Programs student holiday parties

That's just incredible, and we're so grateful to be part of a community of people who are invested in our mission and who are committed to bringing respect and independence to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities right here in York and Adams Counties.
A Message From The Arc of Adams County
Dear Friend of The Arc of Adams County,

We are writing to let you know about the positive changes that we are making at The Arc. We will be working with The Arc of York County to better meet the needs of Adams County residents with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). We have all undergone changes in the past few years and in fact some of you can remember when The Arc changed its name.

We plan to stay true to our mission: Empower people with intellectual and other disabilities to become active, vocal, and skilled community members. That mission extends to supporting families and to educating the community on employing and living side-by-side with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

The Arc of York and Adams Counties is dedicated to improving the lives of people with intellectual disabilities and their families. We are devoted to promoting and providing support and services for people with intellectual disabilities and to foster research and education regarding the prevention of intellectual disabilities in infants and young children.

We are committed to better meet the needs of all individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and ensure that they have the opportunity to choose where and how they learn, live, work, and play.

We have found that the major needs in Adams County are advocacy, navigating the State system to help families receive services, and employment.

Please be assured that Adams County residents with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families will benefit from the additional resources The Arc of York County brings to this partnership. Any financial support you have provided in the past will benefit Adams County residents.

We cannot tell you how lucky we feel to have your support. As we go forward we are going to ask for your help, support and guidance. More detailed communications will follow.
