The Importance of Having Handyman Liability Insurance
If you already run a handyman business, you probably have your tools and your truck. But there is one other thing you will need to have: handyman insurance. You cannot cut corners when it comes to your business and its survival. Take a look at these 3 reasons why every handyman needs to have insurance.

Insurance helps you earn new customers.

Savvy potential customers will likely want proof of insurance before they hire you to come to their home. If you do not have insurance, you could lose those customers to the competition. If an accident takes place while you're working at their home, the customers could be the ones on the line. Customers don't want to have to pay for the damages out of their own pockets. This is why customers are often hesitant to hire a handyman business that doesn't have insurance.

Being a handyman or handywoman is risky.

Every business can benefit from having insurance, and a handyman business is no exception. The job comes with requirements that are risky which makes having insurance necessary to protect your finances. When you're working with labor-intensive issues, electrical problems and power tools, accidents can and do happen. Handyman insurance is typically a bundle of insurance policies, and the combination of different types of insurance gives carriers better coverage.

Some states require handyman insurance.

Some states require all handyman professionals have insurance. Many states make you tell your customers that your business is insured (or not insured). You often must provide proof of coverage in writing and specify the types of coverage you carry too.

Handyman insurance might not seem important, but it's essential to keep your finances and business safe. Insurance is an investment worth making even if your state doesn't require it - insurance allows you to prepare for job-related risks and will protect both you and your business.

Instant Proof of Insurance.

The ACHP Insurance Program is excited to introduce Live Certificate of insurance, a feature designed to give ACHP Next Insurance policyholders instant, shareable, proof of insurance (see image below). Next Insurance customers can now quickly and easily access an online Live Certificate. They can then email it or share a link with anyone they like as verifiable proof of an active insurance policy. The Live Certificate enables entrepreneurs to optimize their work, spending more time focused on their business, and less time on managing certificates of insurance.

How?  Instantly share that policy with anyone you'd like (log into your account, and share your certificate of insurance via email or with a unique link).  This then lets a homeowner or anyone else view a "live" version of their certificate of insurance.
