Ways to Advertise Your Handyman or Handywoman Business
|
Owners of handyman and handywoman businesses often deal with promoting their business while sticking to a budget. This task may feel daunting, but it doesn't have to be. You must be willing to put in a little work and be resourceful. Look at these 4 ways you can promote your handyman business.
Spread the word.
The best place to promote your business is via your own network. Tell your friends and family and see if they need work done at their home or business. Usually people who know you are excited to help you get your business up and running.
Build a strong website.
A customer will look at your website before deciding if they want to contact you, so ensure it's clear and concise. It doesn't have to be an expensive undertaking - share well-written content and high quality photos. A website acts as your first impression, so make it memorable for all the right reasons.
Promote it online.
As you finish projects, share your work online. Upload some before and after pictures and write a brief description so your followers can see your talent. Remember to be present on your social media pages and comment back if people compliment you. Interacting online is a great way to establish yourself as an expert in your industry.
Utilize signage.
Signs are an inexpensive way to get your business recognized locally. Remember that some cities have sign ordinances so follow those rules so your signs aren't removed. Feel free to ask customers to post your signs in their yard for a brief period of time to spread your name to their neighbors.
Promote your handyman business by working hard, first. After that, your website and positive work of mouth will get your business' name out there.

Are your Customers Able to Find You?

Our search requests continue to increase significantly. The new search engine installed in August was indeed what the doctor ordered. This means more and more folks are browsing our directory listings. However, many of you have not updated your listing in a while. In some cases, customers are having difficulties reaching you because of outdated information in your listing. How do we know this? Some of them are calling ACHP. Makes us wonder how many customers are reluctant to go the extra mile thus contacting someone else with a working or displayed phone number, etc.
To fix this problem:
Log in to your member account and:
- Ensure you have access, if not contact us immediately.
- Click on "My Directory Listings" then "Edit". Ensure your information is up to date.
- Enter a city, state, zip code in the display map. If not, the search engine will not be able to find you by zip code search.

Ensure your email and phone number is correct, etc. Add more unique keywords.
|
