Free and Low-Cost Ways to Market Your Handyman Busines
It's always nice to promote your handyman business, especially in ways that are free or low cost. The best strategy includes showing people what you do and what you believe in. When you communicate with customers, make sure you highlight your vision and values, and of course your services, and you will find success.
Look at these easy and affordable ways you can market your handyman business.
Volunteer
Schools, community organizations, non-profit organizations are just a few places that need reliable and friendly handyman professionals. Volunteer at these places to show leadership skills and get your name out into the public. Seek out local events like 5K walks or sponsor a Little League team to get your name and face out into your community.
Send relevant emails
If your subscribers opted in, you can send out professional, timely emails. Email marketing is an affordable and effective way to market your handyman business. Make sure your existing database is organized and utilize carefully composed, personalized emails to communicate with your contacts. Do more than solely advertise via email- send out information that shares changes within your business such as new services you offer, helpful tips related to the season and offer discounts that are exclusive to those on your email list.
Offer workshops at no charge
If you want to show your community who you are and what you do, considering offering free workshops. This will give prospective customers the opportunity to see just how your services can help them. Search online for a free local meeting place and promote the workshop through your email marketing campaign and/or on social media.
Focus on getting your name out by intentionally placing yourself in your community. When you build credibility, you'll foster new relationships and make a good name for your handyman business.

It helps others visualize correct practices and allows you to give back to our craft; "give a man a fish and he will eat for a day, teach a man to fish and he will eat for a lifetime". Please pass your skills along to preserve what others passed to you.

Are your Customers Able to Find You?

Our search requests continue to increase significantly. The new search engine installed in August was indeed what the doctor ordered. This means more and more folks are browsing our directory listings. However, many of you have not updated your listing in a while. In some cases, customers are having difficulties reaching you because of outdated information in your listing. How do we know this? Some of them are calling ACHP. Makes us wonder how many customers are reluctant to go the extra mile thus contacting someone else with a working or displayed phone number, etc.
To fix this problem:
Log in to your member account and:
- Ensure you have access, if not contact us immediately.
- Click on "My Directory Listings" then "Edit". Ensure your information is up to date.
- Enter a city, state, zip code in the display map. If not, the search engine will not be able to find you by zip code search.

Ensure your email and phone number is correct, etc. Add more unique keywords.
|
