4 Honesty Handyman Practices You Need to Know
Honesty really is the best policy, and you probably know that. In fact, integrity in the workplace and out in the field is one of the most important qualities of an excellent leader. Not sure how to show your customers you prioritize honesty and earn their trust? Here's how:
Admit if a project is over your head.
Handymen and handywomen are often thought of as a jack-of- all-trades. While you're probably savvy in a lot of areas, there may come a time when you're asked to do something you aren't comfortable doing. Of course you want to earn money, so it's hard to say no to a project, but you need to say no if you're not skilled in that area. Your customers will respect you more for recommending another professional who can do the job right.
Don't ask for payment before providing the services.
Customers are often leery of a handyman professional who requires payment upfront. Paying in advance gives the greater chance of leaving an unresolved issue if a problem happens to arise. Your customers will trust you more if you don't ask for advanced payments but instead, wait until the work is complete and they are satisfied.
Make sure you're insured.
As a handyman professional, you need to be insured. Insurance protects you if you're injured on someone's property or cause accidental damage while on the job.
Communicate effectively with your customers.
Effective communication is a crucial tool for every business owner - keep in mind that customers often say that they spend more money working with a company when they have positive experiences. Openly communicating with your customers is a highly effective way to reiterate honesty and build loyalty, so keep the lines of communication open and flowing.
Integrity is one of the most important values you can possess as a handyman or handywoman. Never compromise your integrity, do the right thing and you will boost your chances of finding success.

Why Isn't My Listing Displaying in the
ACHP
Directory?
Many customers visit our directory listings daily! Unfortunately, some of you have not correctly created or submitted your listing to the directory and are losing out on good revenue.
If your listing is not displaying, log in to your ACHP account and click on "create a listing", fill in the info, then click "continue/submit" then the "submit" button on the next page to activate your listing. Please note clicking the "save" link will not submit your listing to the directory, you must click "submit".
Note: ACHP does not, nor is it a referral based company. However, ACHP allows you as a member, to use our directory listing to advertise your services.

Are your Customers Able to Find You?

Our search requests continue to increase significantly. The new search engine installed in August was indeed what the doctor ordered. This means more and more folks are browsing our directory listings. However, many of you have not updated your listing in a while. In some cases, customers are having difficulties reaching you because of outdated information in your listing. How do we know this? Some of them are calling ACHP. Makes us wonder how many customers are reluctant to go the extra mile thus contacting someone else with a working or displayed phone number, etc.
To fix this problem:
Log in to your member account and:
- Ensure you have access, if not contact us immediately.
- Click on "My Directory Listings" then "Edit". Ensure your information is up to date.
- Enter a city, state, zip code in the display map. If not, the search engine will not be able to find you by zip code search.

Ensure your email and phone number is correct, etc. Add more unique keywords.
|
