The spring equinox ushers in new life and growth all around us as the Passover and Resurrection day draws us to remembrances of things much larger than political strife and left or right correctness. Lockton Switches its Carrier
Since Lockton has revamped there are some changes to their procedures. All new policies will be administered through the new site. You will now be required to use your Member ID which can be found on your Member Certificate.

Many customers visit our site daily looking for a handyman. Unfortunately, some of our ACHP members have not created or submitted a listing to the directory and are losing out on good revenue. Please log in to your ACHP account and click on "
create a listing", fill in the info, then click
"continue/submit" then the "submit" button on the next page to activate your listing. Please note clicking the "save" link will not submit your listing to the directory, you must click "submit".

Insurance Updates
Lockton has added an easy "pay my bill" link for easy insurance policy renewals. "Participants of our insurance program will still receive their yearly invoices however, we made it easier for members to renew their insurance policy invoices online" says Asst VP, Joe Perkins of Lockton.

The Importance of Local Promotion
|
Today's handyman has several options for promotion that extend beyond his/her service area. These include social media endeavors and memberships to national trade organizations like ACHP. Prominent large businesses promote their business on a national and international scale which garners credibility that potential clients find impressive. Why can't you on a local level? You should also be sure that you have a strong local presence. After all, your customers are going to come from your neighborhood and not from across the globe.
Here are some tips for increasing your reputation as a local power player in the handyman industry.
Join your local Chamber of Commerce. This is a great way to network with other business owners and those relationships often lead to handyman opportunities. Adding the backing of your local Chamber of Commerce to your business documents will encourage new clients to call you before other handyman providers on the list.
Donate services to local fundraisers or create your own. Offer a voucher for a basic service to a silent auction or raffle that will benefit an organization in your community. Not only is it an act of good will, but it will provide publicity for your company.
Put a face with your name. Whatever routes for local promotion you decide to take, add a photo. People like to see a friendly face before calling for services and it will increase your local presence.
Implement a referral program. The best business is word-of-mouth business because the new client already has confidence in your abilities. Offer cash back or a discount for future services to customers who send new clients your direction. Show your ACHP Affiliation and Credibility! |

Are your Customers Able to Find You?
|
Our search requests continue to increase significantly. The new search engine installed in August was indeed what the doctor ordered. This means more and more folks are browsing our directory listings. However, many of you have not updated your listing in a while. In some cases, customers are having difficulties reaching you because of outdated information in your listing. How do we know this? Some of them are calling ACHP. Makes us wonder how many customers are reluctant to go the extra mile thus contacting someone else with a working or displayed phone number, etc.
To fix this problem:
Log in to your member account and:
- Ensure you have access, if not contact us immediately.
- Click on "My Directory Listings" then "Edit". Ensure your information is up to date.
- Enter a city, state, zip code in the display map. If not, the search engine will not be able to find you by zip code search.

Ensure your email and phone number is correct, etc. Add more unique keywords.
