How to Lower Stress and Improve Your Mind Health
Working with customers can be pleasant and rewarding, but it is often stressful too. It's not easy to be in and out of customer's homes, catering to their needs. If you find yourself getting stressed, make sure to learn to manage that stress by improving your mind health. Take a look at these 4 simple ideas.
Learn to Breathe
Every handyman needs to remind themselves to breathe when tension gets high. If you have any issues with a customer, stay focused so you can resolve the issue at hand. Breathing exercises help. Try breathing very slowly and deeply for a minute if the customer is venting. This can help relax you and dissolve some of the tension.
Get Enough Sleep
Everyone knows that feeling tired doesn't help anything. Aim for 8 hours of sleep each night to help make sure you feel your best. Remember to turn off screens 1 hour before you want to go to bed.
Prioritize and Organize
Try to set aside little blocks of time for breaks throughout your day. If possible, prioritize the most important tasks and projects early in your work day. When you are able to tackle those tasks, you feel more relaxed and happy as your day moves along.
Eat Nutritious Foods
It's hard to eat healthy when you're on the road, at a job or in a hurry. However, do your best to fill your body with foods that are healthy. Aim to reduce your sugar consumption by cutting back on sodas, sports drinks and candy. Avoid stimulants like caffeine or nicotine and drink more water. Try to eat more Omega-3 fatty acids to improve your mood. You can find Omega-3 fatty acids in salmon and other cold-water fatty fish, nuts and seeds.
Dealing with stress is a real problem in the workplace, but it is solvable. The negative effects of stress are real and harmful, so turn to these four ideas that can help you manage your stressors, so you can experience breakthroughs at work.

Are your Customers Able to Find You?
|
Our search requests continue to increase significantly. The new search engine installed in August was indeed what the doctor ordered. This means more and more folks are browsing our directory listings. However, many of you have not updated your listing in a while. In some cases, customers are having difficulties reaching you because of outdated information in your listing. How do we know this? Some of them are calling ACHP. Makes us wonder how many customers are reluctant to go the extra mile thus contacting someone else with a working or displayed phone number, etc.
To fix this problem:
Log in to your member account and:
- Ensure you have access, if not contact us immediately.
- Click on "My Directory Listings" then "Edit". Ensure your information is up to date.
- Enter a city, state, zip code in the display map. If not, the search engine will not be able to find you by zip code search.

Ensure your email and phone number is correct, etc. Add more unique keywords.
|
