ACIC Private Notes                           January 2017
Happy 2017, ACIC Fellows! In lieu of a December issue, we decided to kick off 2017 with an early January edition. Hopefully, everyone had an enjoyable holiday season and is ready for an exciting year at the ACIC. For starters, please make sure to mark your calendars for the 2017 ACIC Spring Investment Forum on April 27 - 28, 2017. The ACIC will also continue to offer CLE courses/webinars throughout the year, so please keep an eye out for those invitations. As always, the ACIC would like to hear any feedback from its members regarding CLE or ACIC forum topics, job postings, or article ideas for Private Notes. Please feel free to reach out to Cassie Poss, and she will be able to connect you with the appropriate individual.

In this edition, Josephine Vashi has kindly written an article highlighting the new officers and trustees, who will be leading the ACIC this year. Below please find links to two articles from our UK colleagues, Tom Bannister, Liz Osborne, Emma Simmonds and Barry Russell. The first article focuses on the German Recovery and Resolution Act, while the second discusses the potential impacts of Brexit on the UK oil & gas industry. Danielle Maksimow also contributed to Private Notes the brief and interesting article found below, which discusses a recent decision from the Ontario Court of Appeal.  ACIC greatly appreciates the contributions of these authors as well as the contributions its receives throughout the year.
