ACM SIGGRAPH Newly Elected Executive Committee Directors


ACM has released the results of the ACM SIGGRAPH Executive Committee election. The following members of our community will be joining the Executive Committee for a three-year term effective 1 September, 2024. Congratulations to the directors, learn more about them here. The 2024 ACM SIGGRAPH Theater showcased the yearlong educational, professional development and artistic expressions from the ACM SIGGRAPH Standing Committees. Held as part of the ACM SIGGRAPH conference, the Theater offers a platform for presenting high-quality, innovative content that pushes the boundaries of visual storytelling and technology.

ACM Open: Navigating the Open Access Publication Model 


 ACM SIGGRAPH hosted a moderated webinar discussion entitled ACM Open: Navigating the Open Access Publication Model with ACM Director of Publications Scott Delman and ACM Senior Member Jonathan Aldrich. The webinar was an opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of the intricacies of ACM OPEN.


The speakers discussed the open access model, publication tiering structures, the status of the transition to open access, the impact on ACM Digital Library, and the implications and benefits of Article Processing Charges (APC) for ACM SIGGRAPH authors and contributors. They also engaged in a Q&A session that addressed any additional concerns or questions from the audience. ACM transitions to 100% Open Access in January 2026. Volunteer Programming Opportunity

Welcome Dr. Eakta Jain, ACM SIGGRAPH Executive Committee Chair

Eakta Jain, Ph.D., is the new ACM SIGGRAPH Executive Committee Chair and an associate professor in the Department of Computer, Information Science, and Engineering at the University of Florida.

She received her Ph.D. and M.S. degrees in Robotics from Carnegie Mellon University and her B.Tech. degree from IIT Kanpur. She has industry experience at Texas Instruments R&D labs, Disney Research Pittsburgh, and the Walt Disney Animation Studios. Her research group at the University of Florida is funded through faculty research awards from Facebook/Oculus and Google/YouTube, federal funding from the National Science Foundation, National Institutes of Health, and state funding from the Florida Department of Transportation. Dr. Jain is interested in the safety, privacy and security of data gathered for user modeling, particularly eye tracking data.
