Member Survey: Your Opinion Matters!

As the cost of hosting membership meetings continues to rise, it is crucial for ACMHAI to carefully review and consider all meeting expenses. The Membership Committee has worked to find ways to reduce costs while still maintaining the high-quality experience and training that members have come to expect.

After a thorough analysis of our meeting expenses, the Membership Committee has identified potential options to help control costs and ensure continued financial stability for ACMHAI. In order to move forward, we are seeking member input on the following proposed options to reduce expenses for the Association.

We understand that as members, your time and resources are valuable. Therefore, we want to hear your voice and gather your feedback before making any changes. We ask that you please take a few minutes to complete a brief survey to provide your thoughts on the proposed options. All responses will be carefully considered before any decisions are made. The Membership Committee will present a proposal at the upcoming April or December membership meeting for further discussion and a vote of approval. Any changes to the membership meetings will not take effect until 2025.

The first proposed option pertains to cancellations. Hotels require a food count approximately 10 days in advance to the meeting. Once the numbers have been submitted, ACMHAI is responsible for all meal expenses, which can average $50 or more per person for plated meals. To avoid any financial strain on the organization, we propose that any attendee who cancels less than 10 days in advance should pay a cancellation fee to cover the cost of their expected meals. We ask for your agreement on this proposal and for your input on the maximum amount that should be charged for a cancellation.

The second proposed option is for members to pay a nominal amount for meals when attending the meeting in person. This would help offset the cost of providing meals during the meeting. We understand that this may be an added expense for some members, but it is necessary to keep our finances in check. We ask that you indicate if you are able to pay a small amount for meals, and if so, the maximum amount. This will help us determine the best course of action for meal expenses at future meetings.

We understand that these proposed options may be a change from what members are used to. As a member-driven organization, we value your input and want to ensure that any changes made are in the best interest of all members. We assure you that all responses will be carefully considered, and any decisions made will be in the best interest of the organization and our members.

We thank you for your support and look forward to hearing your thoughts and suggestions.
