ACMS Bi-Weekly Newsletter 2.13.2023

The Allegheny County Medical Society (ACMS) and the Allegheny County Bar Association (ACBA) are holding a “Life Planning Fair” on March 31st. It is a first-of-its kind experience, where physicians, attorneys, medical students, and law students will come together to serve members of the local community in completing Advance Healthcare Directives and living wills.

The Life Planning event is completely free to all participants and will be held on March 31st from 10 AM until 2 PM at the Kauffman Center. The event is particularly seeking to assist Hill district community members.  Food is included for all participants and volunteers. Volunteers will also have access to brief training, as needed.

The ACMS is looking for volunteers for the Life Planning Fair. Please contact [email protected] for more details. Law students and medical students are encouraged to volunteer, as well.

ACMS HONORS

On April 27th, the ACMS Board of Directors would like to invite all ACMS Members, and colleagues in the medical community, to our first in-person fundraising event since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. This year, we are truly looking forward to welcoming you back, in-person, for a night of fellowship and fundraising for the ACMS Foundation.

We will be honoring many of our distinguished members who received acknowledgements from PAMED in 2022 & 2023. We also look forward to spotlighting many of the community partners who have been recipients of ACMS Foundation Grants. Check out Beverly's Birthdays, one of our community partners below! Be sure to register early and share this event with your network.

ACMS Foundation Grant Recipient Highlight

"Many children have never celebrated their birthday. With the support of our communities (and some glitter) we're here to change that!"

The ACMS Foundation has partnered with Beverly's Birthdays to help steward their mission and spread cheer 365 days a year! We would especially like to highlight The Greater Pittsburgh Infant Formula Bank. Since the beginning of the pandemic, Beverly's Babies has distributed thousands of cans of formula to support those who need it.
