ACMS Blog: Prior Authorization Reform

Let’s face facts, every medical practice, whether primary or specialty care, struggles with the ongoing burden of prior authorizations and the added administrative workload placed on providers. Without a doubt, prior authorizations create the single most significant requirement for practices trying to manage the overwhelming paper flow to meet insurance payers’ guidelines and requirements and ensure patients receive the care prescribed. On November 3, 2022, Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Wolf signed PA Senate Bill 225 into law as Act 146. Read our blog post for more information on the bill and what it will mean for you moving forward.
