ACMS Board of Directors & House of Delegates Election

It is ACMS Election Time! It is your opportunity to positively effect change in your local medical community by voting in the ACMS election. This election determines your 2023 Board of Directors, as well as the 2023 Delegates who will represent Allegheny County at next year's PAMED House of Delegates Meeting.


If you have not done so already, please check your email for your e-ballot. The election period is open through Friday, November 11th, 2022 at 12:00 pm EST. Eligible physician members can visit the election site and enter thier member ID and last name to access the ballot. If you do not know your member ID, email Melanie Mayer.

Greater Pittsburgh Diabetes Club


On October 25th, members of the GPDC hosted their Fall Program and welcomed guest speaker Joseph Aloi, MD, Section Chief for Endocrinology and Metabolism, Wake Forest Baptist Health, Winston Salem, NC to the Babb Bldg. He presented a fascinating program titled: Integrating Diabetes Technology with Inpatient Care.


Guests enjoyed a popular Vendor Showcase, dinner and networking, in addition to learning the latest technology used to treat persons needing diabetic care.


Interested in joining the GPDC? Membership is $25 and is open to all clinicians with an interest in Diabetes care.

Pittsburgh Ophthalmology Society


The November 3rd POS monthly meeting attracted a large crowd as they welcomed Ann Shue, MD,  Clinical Assistant Professor, Ophthalmology; Clinical Assistant Professor, Pediatrics, Stanford Health Care, Stanford Medicine Children’s Health, Stanford, CA.

 

Dr. Shue presented two interesting lectures The World of Childhood Glaucoma and Where Glaucoma, Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus Meet  both stimulating excellent and enlightening conversation.

ACMS Things to Note

PCCJR is hosting an education event titled: Venue – The Un-Reform! This FREE live virtual event takes place November 21st from 10:00 AM through 11:30 AM. There is a distinguished panel of attorneys who will discuss the impact of the new venue actions expected from plaintiffs’ attorneys, and how professionals should prepare for the coming change. They will provide insights on what steps might be taken to prevent venue shopping as well as possible legislative remedies.
