64th Annual ACNP Program
It has been a tremendous honor to chair the Program Committee for this year’s meeting. First, I am so grateful to ACNP President Bill Carlezon for entrusting me with this role. Second, huge thanks to the excellent Parthenon Management Group team that keeps the program flowing smoothly year after year. I continue to be impressed and inspired by the deep passion and hard work displayed by the members of the Program Committee, and the larger ACNP membership. Now more than ever, ACNP is and should be a celebration of science.

| | January 2026 Annual Meeting Information | | This year's annual meeting will be held in a hybrid meeting format allowing members and invited guests to attend in-person at the Atlantis Paradise Island Resort or virtually on the ACNP Virtual Meeting Platform. The in-person option will include the classic ACNP Annual Meeting experience. The plenaries, panels, mini-panels, and study groups will not be live streamed this year as they have been in past years but will be recorded with content posted within 48 hours after the session with the presenter’s approval. Virtual attendees will not be able to participate in the in-person poster sessions; however, the e-poster gallery will be available for the duration of the meeting. | | Again this year, Member invited guest invitations will be limited to 400. Please review the requirements for the Special Invitation Bank and utilize the bank when applicable. **As of 8/28/25, Member invited guest invitations have reached the cap of 400 and are now closed. | | |

Promising Targets Submissions
Abstracts considered ‘Promising Targets’ are those that contain exciting and important findings that were not available prior to the Panel, Mini-Panel, and Study Group abstract deadline earlier this year. The Promising Targets abstract deadline is not an extension of the Panel, Mini-Panel, and Study Group submission deadline.
To showcase and promote discussion around the most recent and exciting clinical and translational neuropharmacology at the January 2026 Annual Meeting, this year we are holding the call for Promising Targets abstracts that is focused on new results from clinical trials and novel pharmacological targets. This special session will highlight five speakers, each with a ten-minute talk plus ten-minute discussion.

Annual Meeting Mentorship
One of the benefits for young investigators attending the Annual Meeting has been the availability of mentors to connect with them, to serve as friendly guides throughout the meeting, and to introduce them to senior scientists in their field of research. The opportunity to apply for Annual Meeting Mentorship will open in mid-late October.

The African College of Neuropsychopharmacology (AfCNP), led by Prof. Lukoye Atwoli, AfCNP School Director, and Prof. Peter Kalivas, Director of the Center for Opioid and
Cocaine Addiction (COCA) at the Medical University of South Carolina, successfully hosted the second edition of the AfCNP School from June 1st to June 8th, 2025, at Aga Khan University, Nairobi, Kenya. This year’s school focused on the theme “The intersection of HIV/AIDS, brain disorders, and substance use disorders,” addressing some of the most urgent health challenges in Africa.

2025/2026 ACNP/AMP BRAD Fellow!
Rachel Puralewski, B.S., Ph.D.
Post-doctoral Research Fellow
University of Wisconsin - Madison
Dr. Puralewski is a post-doctoral research fellow at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, bringing over 12 years of experience in translational psychiatric research involving rodent and nonhuman primate species. She received her B.S. in Neuroscience from the University of Pittsburgh and her Ph.D. in Neuroscience from UW–Madison in 2023 under the mentorship of Dr. Ned Kalin. Her doctoral research focused on the emergence of anxious temperament in infant rhesus macaques and its relationship to prefrontal-limbic brain function.
This fall, Dr. Puralewski will begin a new post-doctoral fellowship with Dr. Melissa Brotman in the Neuroscience and Novel Therapeutics Unit at the National Institute of Mental Health, where she plans to continue her work investigating early-life neural factors that contribute to the development of psychopathology.
In addition to her research accomplishments, Dr. Puralewski is a dedicated science communicator and educator. She is passionate about mentoring young scientists, teaching, and engaging communities through science outreach events in Madison and beyond.

As a reminder, the College has partnered with Charity: Water (and One Tree Planted) since the 2021 Annual Meeting to offset the carbon footprint for each in-person attendee.
The report shows the progress the College’s funds are making with their local partner, Relief Society of Tigray. So far, they've engaged 88 communities in hygiene and sanitation training, created eight menstrual hygiene management clubs for girls in schools, and more. Charity:Water is on track for an estimated completion date of spring 2026 where they will share the final report with GPS coordinates and photos from the community.
