Out of concern for the health and safety of all ACPA members and in respect of the current COVID-19 recommendations issued by the Government of Canada, the 2020 Annual General Meeting will be held online. The AGM will address basic business matters, such as annual financials and board elections.

Consider an exciting opportunity to help your Association and serve as a member of the
ACPA Board of Directors. Nominations are now open and must be received at the ACPA office by
March 25, 2020, with the written consent of the nominee. The nominee must be a member in good standing, and the nomination must be signed by at least three (3) members in good standing. If the three sponsoring members cannot all sign a single copy, they can each fax, mail, or email a copy of the nomination form with their signature and the name of the nominee to the ACPA office.
New Directors will be elected and installed at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) on May 9, 2020.

The ACPA Undergraduate Scholarship in Chemistry ($1000) is awarded annually to a student who is registered in a full-time undergraduate chemistry program at a university in the province of Alberta.

The ACPA has established the Arthur Bollo-Kamara Scholarship as a memorial tribute to Arthur Bollo-Kamara, Ph.D., P.Chem., and the work he conducted on behalf of chemists in this province. This $1000 scholarship is awarded annually to a student registered in a graduate chemistry program at a university in the province of Alberta.

The new ACPA Jursiprudence Course is an online course that can be completed in approximately three hours. To access the course, sign in to your ACPA online account and look for Jurisprudence course under the Member Menu. You will need to register for the course with a one time fee of $150 + GST. Thereafter, you can return to the course as often as you wish.

All current members have until December 31st to complete this course.
New members and CIT's must complete this course before they can use the P.Chem. title.
|
|
As a result of the preventative measures enacted by various provincial governments across Canada due to the spread of COVID-19, Youth Science Canada is unable to hold the 2020 Canada-Wide Science Fair as planned, from May 9-15 in Edmonton, Alberta.
Youth Science Canada has closely monitored the advice from the Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC) and respects the measures implemented at the regional level to prevent the spread of the virus.
