Allen County Public Library Research Trip 2021

1-4 August 2021
1 August—arrive. No group library time, but the library is open from noon until 5 p.m.
2-4 August—library time. Library is open from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. on these days. We will be researching in library from open until close following Library Covid-19 protocols. Consultations with Michael will be done during this time as well--following Library Covid-19 protocols.
Limited to 12 participants. First-come, first-served.
Participants must abide by ACPL library Covid-19 rules and regulations at all times. Consultations with participants in the library will be done within ACPL Covid-19 protocols. Participants are encouraged to prepare before the trip as much as possible and to communicate problems digitally during the trip as much as possible.
There will be no group meals. Presentations to group participants will be either during group sessions at the library (under any Library Covid-19 protocols) or via pre-recorded presentations. This will be determined before the actual trip dates. We may have a limited number of Zoom meetings before the trip if there is sufficient interest. Topics to be determined based on participant interest.
Trip includes assistance with pre-trip planning. On-site assistance and consultations with Michael will be made following Library Covid-19 protocols. Registrants are strongly encouraged to do as much pre-trip planning as possible. Michael cannot force you to pre-plan for your trip, but will provide help and suggestions before the trip if provided with organized information on participant’s research problems.
The trip registration will be $160 for registrations before 1 June 2021. After that date registration will be $185 and subject to availability. Refunds before 1 July will be subject to a $50 administrative charge—unless the cancelling participant can find someone to register in their place.
We have no group hotel/motel. Travel arrangements are the responsibility of the participant.
Registration fee only includes participation in the research trip group, consultations, and research assistance before and during library time. All other expenses are the responsibility of the participant including, but not limited to: travel, food, parking, photocopies, etc. Participants engage in the research trip at their own risk.
