Dear Member

WORLD PHYSIOTHERAPY CONGRESS IN DUBAI
ACPOHE committee member Glykeria Skamagki was lucky enough to travel to Dubai to attend this great event. Here's what she had to say about her experience there:
"I attended the WCPT in Dubai this month and I was part of the networking sessions with International Federation of Physical Therapists working in Occupational Health and Ergonomics (IFPTOHE). In the sessions we discussed the collaboration we could do with the other physiotherapy networks with the most key being:
- Private practice
- Mental health
- Musculoskeletal
- Environmental health
The conference in general was a great opportunity for collaboration, learning and networking."

ACPOHE REPRESENTED IN IFPOHE COMMITTEE
We are delighted and very proud to announce that our much loved committee member Tracey Atkinson, who has now reached her full term as a member on the ACPOHE committee, has moved on and now represents ACPOHE in the International Federation of Physiotherapists working in Occupational Health and Ergonomics (IFPOHE) and sits on their global committee! This is really fantastic and means that Tracey will be at the forefront of any new developments and policies being developed within the OH world. Well done Tracey!
On the topic of IFPOHE, they recently released their May newsletter which you can read [ HERE].

MOTION PASSED FOR ACPOHE AND DISABILITY AT THE #CSPARC2023
Two of our committee members attended the CSP ARC conference this week, with one of our members, Colette Owen, speaking in support of DisAbility's motion for training the workplace on the Equality Act 2010, reasonable adjustments and their implementation and their legal duties. This motion was carried forward with 100% support!
ACPOHE will be closely working with DisAbility in co-producing resources for the workplace so keep an eye out for further news and development. If you would like to be part of his project, please get in touch by email at colette@acpohe.org.uk.

ACPOHE INVOLVED IN NEW GUIDANCE DOCUMENTS
Over the past year, ACPOHE has been working with FOM to pull together two guidance documents, which have now been released!
The first is a document to support any health professional who is either just starting in the world of OH or someone who does not have experience in it, and wants to understand how to begin supporting someone who is at work or needs to return to work:
This guidance document can be found [ HERE].
The second is a guidance document on how to approach people who suffer with upper limb pain to keep them at work or help them return to work.
This can be found [ HERE].
Although this information may be known to experienced OH physiotherapists, there are still some medics, employers or other health professionals that over-protect those with upper limb pain and tend to advise total rest and time off. This resource can be shared with HR departments, with OH teams, or anyone who needs to support someone with upper limb pain. They are simple and easy to read and understand and point to relevant research.

TAKE PART IN A CSP FOCUS GROUP
The CSP would like your help to understand members' baseline knowledge, capabilities and support needs in evidence based practice, quality improvement and health inequalities. This insight will be a vital component in developing CSP strategy and resources aimed at supporting the current and future physiotherapy workforce so we can take action in addressing health inequalities through our practice.
They would like to invite you to one of our series of focus groups to share your current knowledge and perspectives. The groups are 75 minutes long and do not require any background reading or preparation and will take place in July this year.
This invitation is open to all CSP members who are registered and associate members - we are sharing it with you as professional networks specifically as it is essential that we gain a diverse range of member perspectives to shape this work.
For more information and to register, click [ HERE].
