Grant Writing Workshop 
 
Grant-writing is an increasingly important skill in the municipal, not-for-profit, and even corporate world.
For small organizations and communities, however,
grant writing can present a real challenge in terms of 
   time, completion, budgeting and submission.   Join Dr.   
    Lars Hallström, the recipient of over 80 research,
    knowledge mobilization, infrastructure and collaborative
    grants, for this activity-based workshop for people with
    varied experiences in the grant-writing process


 
Community Cancer Prevention and Screening Dashboard
 
Alberta Health Services has recently launched a Community Cancer Prevention and Screening Dashboard: an interactive online interface that empowers Alberta communities to understand and take action on  
   cancer risk factors in their communities.
   To support communities in translating the dashboard 
   findings to action, tools and resources are also available
   at

Webinar: Who is vulnerable to household food insecurity and what does this mean for policy and practice?  
 Join PROOF and CDPAC for a second webinar on household food insecurity. In this webinar, we will delve into the question of what drives vulnerability to household food insecurity in Canada. Drawing on the wealth of Canadian data collected during more than a decade of food insecurity monitoring, we will examine the social and economic circumstances of food insecure households and look at what has been found to underpin changes in household food insecurity status over time.

Boom & Bust is now available in a new international format published by In Planning, the publishing arm of the European Association of Planning Schools.  The international version has a new title, cover, a new chapter, plus a map and a few extra photos.  Congratulations to all of the authors!
 
 
Funding Opportunities
Rural Prosperity Initiative
 
The Rural Prosperity Initiative is a program that has been designed to address known capacity gaps of rural communities in adopting sustainable solutions for water, waste and energy by showcasing potential solutions, identifying regional opportunities, and providing access to resources.  
Sustainability Resources has committed funding to    
   support coordination of Rural Innovation Forums and
   are accepting applications and expressions of interest
   from communities, economic development agencies, and
   regional associations to host a "kick-start" forum to identify
   innovators, resources, and projects that will transform their
   region and boost local economies.

BREI Business Retention & Expansion International 2017 Annual Conference
The 2017 conference agenda features a slate of professional speakers discussing industry trends, BRE tactics and strategies, lessons learned from practitioners, and a multi-disciplinary approach to solving BRE challenges.  The conference includes multiple keynote presentations and three professional tracks: professional growth stream, BRE essentials stream, and community building stream.
