Last year's runners had great things to say about this event. Many had never done a trail run before and were surprised to discover just how much fun it can be. This one is a flat, shady course that winds throughout the ACT Community Trails and the Eastern Trail. It has also been certified as a Youth Trail run. With the new playground, the Kids Bike Trail Race on our Flow Trail, there is a lot for the family to do while you run.

We LOVE Our Volunteers!

Meet one of our newest board members for 2025! Welcome Anna!

Anna Gallerani

Anna Gallerani serves as the Co-chair of the ACT PR committee. She balances her career in tech with as much time outdoors as possible. After spending 10 years living out West, she realized the importance of publicly available trails and spaces and was so grateful for the trail systems in and around her new hometown of Arundel. She's excited about the opportunity to be a part of ACT and the community of volunteers who are passionate about furthering ACT's mission. She believes that time in nature can bring tremendous clarity and perspective and loves the Wallace Stevens quote: “Perhaps the truth depends on a walk around the lake.” You may run into her, her husband, and their two dogs taking "lunch laps" on the ACT trails, skiing at Sugarloaf, or on their oyster farm in Cape Porpoise.

We'd love to have you join our wonderful volunteer team. We need committee members, trail blazers and day volunteers for our September Trail Fest!

THE JOY OF OUTDOOR SKATING IN MAINE

Once every ten years or so during the winter in Maine, we get conditions of cold and little snow that creates amazing conditions for magic, where our thousands of lakes and ponds are made of glass, making for surreal landscapes to be explored with a simple pair of skates. There’s nothing quite like the magic of gliding across a frozen pond on a crisp Maine winter day. Read more of ACT's recent blog post on the Joy of Pond Skating and tips on how to create your own backyard rink here!

Bonus points if you can name the dog in the photo!? Hopefully you had a chance to enjoy all that light fluffy snow we received earlier in February! Would you like to make a guess? Connect with us here!
