Last Saturday July 13th, ACT held their first Family Trail Building Day - while the rain was pouring down in nearby Kennebunk, the trails and families at the Arundel Community Trails were staying dry.
We had two stations where kids and youth helped adults measure, cut and attach boardwalks to create catwalks that will be used on the wet areas of the Arundel Community Trails. Time flew by — but before we headed out we were able to plant some lupine seeds that will make their appearance in 2 years time! Each kiddo brought home a bag of lupine seeds that they will be able to plant at their homes or next time they are out on their favorite walk.
What a great way to make the world more beautiful.
We are grateful for the parents and the little hands that made this day a fun learning experience for all! Stay tuned for more trail volunteer days and other family trail building days!
