ACI Members: Tell Your Senators to Support Reforms to the Conservation Reserve Program
Senate Agriculture Chairman Pat Roberts, R-Kan., and Ranking Member Debbie Stabenow, D-Mich., will soon announce the date of the farm bill mark-up in the Senate. NGFA needs you to reach out to your senators and urge that
S. 2557, the GROW Act
, be included in the Senate Farm Bill.
As you may know, NGFA has been working on conservation reforms that keep American agriculture competitive by preventing good, productive land from being idled under the Conservation Reserve Program (CRP), reform CRP rental rates to discourage enrollment of productive farmland and help beginning farmers access farmland, and ending whole-farm enrollments into CRP. These reforms were included in the GROW Act and now is an opportune time for you to weigh in with your senators.
Thanks again to our Senate cosponsors on this legislation: Senators Joni Ernst, R-Iowa; Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa; Bob Casey, D-Penn.; and Sherrod Brown, D-Ohio.
There are two ways to TAKE ACTION:
SEND A TWEET
to your senators asking them to support CRP reform.
SEND AN EMAIL
to your senators asking them to support the GROW Act.
