Drought Crisis– Streams Run Dry

The Time is NOW to Pass the Drought Bill!

With sweltering heat & no rain, half of our watershed is now in Level 3– Critical Drought.

Drought conditions continue to worsen, now affecting the entire state, with no relief in sight. Just this week, upstream portions of Fuller Brook in Wellesley ran dry. Despite rapidly deteriorating conditions, the drought management bill (S.530)– which would give the state the authority it needs to call for widespread water conservation before there is a drought emergency– is still stuck in the Senate Ways and Means Committee.

Urgent action is needed! Email the Senate Ways and Means Committee TODAY and tell them to move the drought bill before the legislative session ends on July 31!
