As we move into the second full month here on campus, it is important that we maintain a focus on health and safety. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, our staff will not be completing our traditional inspections. Instead, we are asking that each student take a few minutes to review the checklist below.
Fan Coil Units
Ensure that no items are blocking the base of your unit.
Ensure that no items are covering/blocking the vents on top of your unit.
Ensure your thermostat remains in the 70-74 degree range.
Windows
Ensure your windows can easily close and lock.
As we move into cooler weather, it is important that your windows remain closed and locked to prevent any facility damage.
Exit/Egress
Ensure a clear path of egress to your exit - both in your room and your living space.
Ensure there is nothing on the floor that could create a trip or fire hazard.
Fire Safety
Ensure that all fire safety equipment (e.g. sprinkler heads, alarms, and strobes) remain uncovered and are not tampered with.
Ensure that there are no flammable items in your living space.
Trash
Ensure trash is placed in a can and emptied regularly.
Ensure you check any shared spaces in your living space for this same list of items.
If there are any concerns in your living space, please submit a work order to Facilities and Campus Services at 336-758-4255 or workorders.wfu.edu.
If you have questions or concerns that need to be addressed with the Office of Residence Life and Housing, please contact us at [email protected] so we can route your concerns to the correct staff.
Thank you for your time and attention to this process! As always, please remember to follow all COVID-19 policies and expectations so that we can continue our time together on campus.
