Dear ACTION,
I hope this email finds you well and enjoying the kickoff of summer and sunshine.
Last month, you received an update regarding some changes at ACTION VC in light of ongoing economic challenges that we, and many organizations, are experiencing.
Today, I come to you with another update of a difficult decision due to continued economic challenges. We are sad to report that in the recent weeks, we have temporarily let go the paid staff position of Program Director, Marlowe Emberly, and Event Engagement Coordinator, Zarisbeth Soto.
Both Marlowe and Zarisbeth have faithfully served ACTION VC, sharing with us and so many in our county their passion, hard work, leadership and heart to help those in need. We are incredibly thankful for the years of service they have given to make a difference in Ventura County. This has been an incredibly difficult season to walk through.
So, what does this look like for ACTION VC moving forward?
There is a great and growing need in Ventura County, the work is not done!
Each week ACTION VC receives dozens of requests to our Needs of the Week and Accessibility programs. This season presents us with the opportunity to continue achieving our mission to connect volunteers and reach our community. For the time being, ACTION VC moves forward as a solely volunteer run organization.
In order, to continue making an impact and bringing renewed hope, I ask you to prayerfully consider making an additional donation today. Your continued generosity enables our programs to continue operations, providing joy to a child at Christmas, restoring freedom to the immobile and assuring the safety of the elderly here in Ventura County.
