Policy & Practice Webinar Series Continues – The ACU’s ongoing biweekly Policy and Practice Webinar Series seeks to build awareness of systemic issues contributing to poor health. Whether you are a clinician, healthcare administrator, or advocate, this series will help you build your policy prowess and work toward permanent solutions to improve healthcare for underserved populations.

  • Medicaid Covers US: Protecting Health Insurance that Helps Communities Thrive – Thursday, June 18th, at 12 p.m. ET. The lens through which Medicaid is viewed makes it challenging to foster productive conversations about the importance of the program, and how it helps communities, economies, families, and health systems thrive. Using examples from the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network's Medicaid Covers US project, this webinar will take attendees through current information on Medicaid, the role of Medicaid in public health emergencies like COVID-19, and how to share stories about the importance of Medicaid in a way that resonates with policymakers and the public. STAR² Center Turnover Calculator Tool – Following the three-part Turnover Tool Webinar Series, now archived online, the STAR² Center team is pleased to announce the release of the Turnover Calculator Tool. As health centers, PCAs, and HCCNs work to improve clinician retention in the field, questions continue to emerge about the real problem of turnover. There is currently no publicly available data set that specifically captures health center turnover. This new web-based tool from the STAR² Center collects and analyzes turnover at health centers, informing state and national training and technical assistance efforts. STAR² Center Manager Training for Employee Engagement – Join the STAR² Center for this two-part webinar series to learn the vital role that managers play in the engagement and retention of staff. This series and accompanying toolkit will equip health center leadership to train their managers in regards to the management of employees to increase engagement and reduce turnover. Webinars will take place on June 23 rd and June 30 th at 1 p.m. ET. Register once to access both sessions!

New ACU Vision Services Committee – Call for Members! – ACU is pleased to announce our new Vision Services Committee. The Committee will work with ACU to increase access to vision services in underserved areas. ACU is recruiting 10-15 clinicians and administrators who have all levels of experience delivering care or operating vision service programs at health centers.
