Greetings!
Earlier this year, ACVS shared with Diplomates plans to establish an independent Certification Council (council) as part of the proposed governance change to separate certification functions from membership activities. The council will oversee all aspects of the certification process, including the related committees. ACVS will hold a virtual information session for ACVS Diplomates about the proposed council at 7 pm (ET) on October 7.
ACVS will post material on the website for your review in advance of the information session. The material will include a draft council charter, current and proposed organization charts, a high-level appointment process for council members, and position descriptions for council members. Pending a successful vote on the proposed ACVS Bylaws in 2026, council members will be identified for onboarding with terms starting in January 2027.
Please mark your calendars for the October 7 virtual information session. ACVS will email Diplomates when the materials are posted online and provide a Zoom registration link.
