COLUMBUS, Ohio — Thirty-two years in Washington turned Sherrod Brown into a liar unfit for public office. Ohio deserves better. That’s the message of Jon Husted’s newest television advertisement airing today.
The new 30-second ad, titled “Change,” highlights Brown’s deceit and hypocrisy, and the fact that he failed hardworking Ohio families during his 32 years in Washington.
Brown has taken more than $100,000 from at least a dozen Epstein associates, including disgraced former Harvard president Larry Summers, entertainment executive Casey Wasserman and prominent attorney Brad Karp. Brown refuses to give those donations to charity, instead using them to fund his desperate comeback campaign.
Meanwhile, during the U.S. Senate’s single recorded vote on the issue, Jon Husted voted to release the Epstein files.
“Sherrod Brown owes Ohioans answers,” said Husted. “Why didn’t he release the Epstein files during his 32 years in Washington? Why won’t he donate the money he received from Epstein associates to charity? Why did he turn his back on the victims? It’s time for Sherrod Brown to look in the mirror and embrace his own hypocrisy.”
During his three decades in Congress, Brown sat on the Epstein files while voting to raise taxes on hardworking Ohio families and open our southern border to drugs and crime. Instead of facing this record head-on, Brown is spending millions on dishonest ads and running from his 52 years in elected office.
“The lies that Sherrod Brown is spreading would be laughable if they weren’t so despicable,” said Amy Natoce, communications director for Husted for Senate. “Sherrod Brown is literally using Epstein money to run TV ads about Epstein money! You can’t make this stuff up.”
The TV ad part is part of a three-week, $1.5 million buy and can be viewed here and by clicking on the image below.
