AD CLUB INSIDER December Edition

AD CLUB Members:
This year we watched in awe as our members – brands, agencies, media buyers, and sellers – tackled 2020 with purpose, resilience, and by prioritizing relationships.
As this year draws to a close, our small but mighty team and esteemed Board of Directors reflect on the bright spots:
- We became a “Virtual Clubhouse” launching 5 series across 50+ webinar screenings, happy hours, thinktanks, Young Pro interviews, classes, and conversation, that kept our community informed and engaged.
- New companies and schools joined as first-time members to stay connected in the virtual world
-
Many new brands joined our speaker line-ups for the first-time and attendees joined from near and far as the virtual world widened our audience reach
- Incredible work from all over the globe was submitted and recognized by The ANDY Awards and we are ready to launch 2021 and Face the Future with renewed understanding
- The Club Foundation kept summer internships for college students alive, introduced our new class of 20 dynamic women as Fellows, and held an inspirational High School Ad Futures program during Advertising Week
Despite the challenges, our community found countless ways to collaborate and support one another. Our Virtual Clubhouse helped create community and humanize the online experience. This will be key to our success going forward and as we re-emerge, stronger together in person next year. In an industry as creative as ours we know anything is attainable.
We wish all our members a healthy and peaceful holiday season and all good things in the new year.
-The AD Club Team

Over 700 people gathered virtually on 12/18 to hear from brands and the marketing community on how Out-of-Home proved so valuable during COVID and how they are poised for re-entry. Congratulations to the OAAA Media Plan of the Year award winner announced at the event – Kinetic/Facebook for their "Thank You" campaign encouraging users to acknowledge and thank frontline workers who are keeping communities running during the ongoing COVID pandemic.
Thanks to all of our speakers and sponsors – Broadsign, Capitol, Clear Channel Outdoor, Intersection, GSTV, Lyft/Halo, Outfront Media, Vector and Vistar - for rallying to move the industry forward. The Club will continue delivering news on this important top through OOH:NOW webinars, newsletter and blogs in 2021.

PJ Pereira named jury chair for International ANDY Awards; diversity program launched
|
Most likely you think of The ANDYs as the highest level of creative talent, and you'd be right (we can't wait to reveal the 2021 Jury!) but along with The ADVERTISING Club of New York, the ANDYs parent organization, they have done incredible work at all levels, from students at the high school level through to CCOs. The ANDYs have long been dedicated to supporting creatives and other media professionals along their career paths.
But at a time when it has become clear that the industry has far more work to do, The ANDYs and AD Club are once again inviting the industry to set the bar higher.

When awards required more transparency, The ANDYs made judging live. When awards overloaded on categories, The ANDYs eliminated them altogether. With a history of breaking the mold of award shows the ANDYs are once again set on challenging the status quo.
At a time when it’s become clear that the ways we measure ourselves aren’t quite good enough, The ANDYs are inviting the industry to set the bar higher by implementing a creative mentorship program, giving more seats at the table for those who have historically been underrepresented.
This year, more than ever, entering The ANDYs is an investment in our industry and our people, not an expense. It’s time to face the future.
