Senior Life EXPO Brings Together 800+ in Douglas County
The Castle Rock Senior Activity Center offers a variety of events and activities that reach the senior adult community throughout Douglas County. On June 4, 2025, Arapahoe/Douglas Works! participated in the Senior Life EXPO as an EXPO Partner.
A grand total of 867 attended (including 609 guests, 176 partners, and 82 volunteers serving the event. The event featured 8 presentations, 3 demonstrations, giveaways and more. It was a vibrant day of learning and community engagement!

Virtual Career Fair Links Talent with Employers
Arapahoe/Douglas Works! hosted a virtual Programs Career Fair on May 28, 2025. The career fair was designed for all job seekers looking for their next career. There were 18 organizations and 175 job seekers in attendance.

ONEOK Foundation supports programs that enhance the quality of life and economic well-being in the communities where ONEOK operates and where employees work and live. Areas of interest include arts and culture, community improvement, education, the environment, and health and human services. Grant amount: $500-$500,000. Application deadline: None (Requests for greater than $5,000 are reviewed quarterly.)

The Denver Broncos Community Grant Program provides up to $10,000 in funding to Colorado-based nonprofits and organizations for projects and programs focused on youth ages five to 24. Funding priorities include youth health and wellness, youth and high school football, dynamic in and out of school programming, and access to career pathways. Upcoming deadlines: August 15th and November 15, 2025.

The Denver Foundation's Strengthening Neighborhoods Program provides small grants to 1. hire a capacity-building “coach” or 2. support grassroots community development campaigns or projects, or organizing. Projects must make use of the strengths and assets that already exist in the community, such as neighborhood leaders’ skills or neighborhood institutions (like businesses, schools, churches, or parks). The application closes November 17, 2025.

The Glenn W. Bailey Foundation offers grants ranging from $20,000 to $35,000 on average to bolster STEM education and learning. There are no deadlines for submitting letters of inquiry or grant applications. The Foundation’s Board holds meetings at least monthly to review submitted information from the prior month.

Believe in Reading funds programs in the United States dedicated to the teaching and encouragement of reading for all ages. Funding is considered for programs that serve any age or aspect of supporting reading and literacy, including adult literacy, English as a second language projects, or Braille-related projects for the blind or visually impaired. There is no deadline to apply for funding.

The Wish You Well Foundation supports adult and family literacy in the United States by fostering the development and expansion of new and existing adult literacy and educational programs. The focus is on supporting nonprofit organizations that teach adults the literacy skills they need to communicate, grow, and thrive within their communities. There is no deadline to apply for funding.

The NBA Foundation is now accepting grant applications for 2024 on a rolling basis. The Foundation supports organizations operating in NBA markets in the U.S. and Canada that promote school-to-career employment opportunities, including job readiness, skill training, job placement, and career advancement, for Black youth ages 14 to 24.
