December is here!  A busy time of shopping, rushing, wrapping, and functions!  It's a month full of fun times, making memories with those we love, and remembrance of those people and traditions we hold dear. Listed below are some December happenings at ADA and things to look forward to in the new year.  I hope you all enjoy this wonderful season!

December is Holiday Spirit Month
Dancers can w ear a ttire in Red & Green (or Blue & White if you celebrate Hanukkah) the whole month!  Ballet classes MUST still be in leotard and tights but they can be colored.  Shirts on top of leotards can be worn but CANNOT be baggy for Level Ballet classes!  Santa hats are allowed if they stay pinned on :)

December 21st-Jan 2nd:
Studio Closed-Winter Break-Happy Holidays!

January 3rd: Classes resume after Holiday Break. This was originally scheduled for 1/5 but we are holding a makeup class due to an early storm.

January 9th: New 6-week session of WEE Dance begins Wednesdays from 10:45-11:30

January 26th-31st: Parent Observation Week-Bring your cameras and video!

Be on the lookout for TUTU TINA ~ADA's very own Elf on the Shelf who dances back to the North Pole about once a week after she has seen all our little (and big) dancers so she can report to Santa!

Black Friday may be over, but not for ADA current and alumni dancers!  Last year the store Lululemon offered ADA dancers a special shopping day in which everyone who signed up was able to save 25% off their entire purchase that day.   This year, they are extending the same offer to us again!  The date is Monday, December 3rd from 10AM to 7PM and your name MUST be on this list in order to make a purchase and save.   Please note that male items cannot be purchased, as they will assume this is for female dancers unless you specify in the comments section that you are purchasing for a male dancer.

Special Class Notes:

*Closings due to SNOW:

The studio will not necessarily close for snow/bad weather days regardless if area schools are closed.  Closings will be sent out via email within one hour of the scheduled class and posted on our Facebook & Instagram accounts. You are entitled to a makeup class if we close the studio due to the weather.  It is encouraged to be made up but not required.

*Split Club

Split Club auditions are always the first week of the month in our Jazz classes!  Split club aids in the growth of our dancer's flexibility while helping them to see the progression they are making each month!

*All dancers:

Be sure to stay covered up in the waiting room to keep those muscles warm! Ballet sweaters/tops in black and pink are permitted for ballet/jazz class.  Sweatshirts are NOT allowed as teachers need to see the proper body lines to make sure technique is correct.

*All Hip Hop & Pom classes:

Please be sure to wear sneakers, worn only for the class, to the studio.  As the weather becomes bad, shoes worn outside make a mess of our floors.

As a reminder to those on the monthly payment plan:
Tuition installment #4, due December 1st, remains the same despite holiday break.  Our tuition is based on a  yearly fee divided into 10 equal payments, due monthly.

If you are on an 2x per year payment plan, with the 5% savings, the next installment is due on or before February 1st.

A Class for 2-3 year olds and their mom, dad, sitter or any caregiver!

WEE Dance is for Mommy (or Daddy/caregiver) and a tot. It is designed to help aid in the development of skills appropriate for a 2-year-old. For this reason, our class uses a parent or caregiver to help us orient the child into a classroom setting encouraging the development of fine and gross motor skills. These skills are developed through the use of music, dance, and support of those who love them. Along with assisting in the development of motor skills in the children, we incorporate sharing, taking turns, and following directions. These aspects all lead to the development of socialization and additional necessary skills of listening and memory.
