2024 Colorado Humanitarian Award Winner

Congratulations to our ADEMS President, Dr. William Wright, who was recently chosen to receive the prestigious COPIC’s 2024 Colorado Humanitarian Award in honor of Harold E. Williamson. This esteemed award recognizes volunteer medical services and contributions to the community by Colorado physicians. His outstanding support and dedication to the Colorado healthcare community have touched many, and in response, he was nominated for this significant award.

As the recipient of this year’s award, COPIC will provide an award of $10,000 to the health-related

501(c)(3) organization of his choice. ADEMS hopes to to honor Dr. Wright with this award at our Annual Social on October 26th at the Uncorked Kitchen and Wine Bar. Join us!

Brigitta Robinson, MD, is the CMS president-elect

Thank you to all CMS members who voted in the 2024 CMS Leadership Election. Your voice matters, and thanks to your engagement, the results are in! Congratulations: Brigitta Robinson, MD, a longtime leader in organized medicine and current member of the Arapahoe-Douglas-Elbert Medical Society and the Colorado Delegation to the American Medical Association. She will be sworn in during the September 2025 Annual Meeting.

Dr. Robinson says she will focus on three things as CMS president: increasing AMA membership, decreasing the barriers to practicing medicine, and improving mental health access. "While these are certainly national issues, I would like to focus on Colorado and find solutions to lead the rest of the country by example."

Many physicians having workplace or situational concerns would benefit from true peer-to-peer support from a physician well-being expert. Arapahoe-Douglas-Elbert Medical Society endorses the CMS / CPHP-launched Doc2Doc Wellbeing Consulting. to provide pre-clinical assistance to any Colorado physician, resident/fellow, or medical student without lengthy documentation or extensive evaluation.

Call 720-810-9131 for any concern -- stress, a relationship issue, poor outcome -- and schedule a confidential follow-up with a physician trained in psychiatry (in person, via video, or by phone). Don't wait until a problem gets too big. Utilize these free peer consultation sessions whenever you need them!
