ADM Recovery Challenge 5K
celebrates 6th year!
Thank you to the 369 runners, 100 volunteers and dozens of organizations that supported the ADM Recovery Challenge 5K this year!

We had a wonderful day at IBH Addiction Recovery Center in support of the County of Summit Alcohol, Drug Addiction and Mental Health (ADM) Services Board. In addition to a traditional 5K, participants were challenged by nine obstacles meant to be symbolic of the challenges people face during the process of recovery from an addiction or mental illness.

A special congratulations to Tarry House who had the largest team at 64 participants!

This year’s top winners in the men’s division were:
1st place: Mark Dudek of Akron
2nd place: Marcus Sedlak of Uniontown
3rd place: Isaac Steiner of North Lawrence

This year’s top winners in the women’s division were:
1st place: Hope Murphy of Mogadore
2nd place: Cassie Durdel of Cuyahoga Falls
3rd place: Melody Proakis of Akron

Awareness Month
Did you know - Working aged men (25-54 years old) account for the largest number of suicide deaths in the United States?

These men are also the least likely to receive any kind of support. They don't talk about it with their friends or family and are less likely to seek professional treatment. They are the victims of problematic thinking that says mental health disorders are unmanly signs of weakness. If you or someone you know needs help, please call our local crisis hotline at 330-434-9144 or the National Suicide Prevention Hotline at 1-800-273-8255.
