ADSOEF FUNDING THE FUTURE OF
EXCELLENCE IN EDUCATION!
FROM YOUR FOUNDATION DIRECTORS

Hello, members!  Your Board of Directors has been busy organizing for this fiscal year.  We appreciate the members who agreed to serve on committees.  When phone calls occurred, you were delightful in responding with enthusiasm and positiveness.  Thirty-nine individuals volunteer their time to do the work of ADSOEF, which benefits educators and students.  In this edition of Foundation Matters, you will read the names of members on two committees and their role in carrying out the mission of the Foundation.

We invite you to take a look at the updated applications posted on our website.  Is there an opportunity for you?  The descriptions give information on how you may gain financial awards to help pay for educational endeavors.  Stories from award recipients are published in our newsletters.

Teachers are gearing up for the beginning of a new school year.  Esther H. Strickland Grant recipients are among them.  Read the experiences during student teaching for Alisha Jenkins, one of the 2022 awardees.  She’s ready for her very own classroom!

Serving on this Foundation is rewarding because of what is offered for DKG members and non-members.  We exist to support educators who are studying and striving to provide the best education possible for their students.  We exist to support you and your personal and educational goals.  ADSOEF Directors encourage your continued participation, appreciate your input, and truly value your support! Please go to adsoef.org to contact us.

Best wishes for a successful 2022-2023 school year!

A LETTER FROM ALISHA JENKINS
A 2022 ESTHER H. STRICKLAND GRANT RECIPIENT
ADSOEF members,

Thank you again for allowing me to receive Esther H. Strickland Student Teaching Grant. It is because of this grant that I was able to complete my student teaching experience. Without this grant, I would have had the stress of working 25 hours or more a week while also maintaining the responsibilities of student teaching. For my student teaching experience, I was placed in a 6th grade math and science classroom. This was a great placement as I also had an inclusion class which I learned a lot from.

NOTE OF GRATITUDE
The privilege of the Donor Relations committee is getting to hear from so many generous OSO chapters and individual members.  The generosity is overwhelming and greatly appreciated.  Whether it was a first-time donation, a repeat donation or one that is given every month, each thoughtful donation is appreciated and will go toward the Foundation goal of funding and promoting educational excellence in Ohio.  It is especially touching to acknowledge the many donations made in honor of someone special or in memory of loved one.  Your generosity has been noticed and greatly appreciated. A very special thank you to each and every donor.
