ADSOEF FUNDING THE FUTURE OF
EXCELLENCE IN EDUCATION!
FROM YOUR FOUNDATION DIRECTORS

Welcome to 2022-2023, a new year for your Educational Foundation. As we move into our sixth year, we celebrate successes and will continue the mission of ADSOEF. Dr. Norma Kirby, our Chairman of the Board the past year, expertly guided us in our work. We highly commend and applaud her extraordinary efforts!

In January, your Foundation published our own ADSOEF Newsletter. Today we unveil the newly named Foundation Matters! Continue reading to discover other highlights from the past year, plus a suggestion for sharing Chapter pictures.

DKG members volunteer to serve as Foundation Directors. The officers for this year include Sandy Royer, Chairman; Marilyn Slusser, Vice Chairman; Chris Snoddy, Secretary; and Dr. Lois Harkins, Treasurer.

When you have suggestions, feedback, comments, and questions, please go to adsoef.org to contact us. We value communication and your input!

Enjoy your summer!

ADSOEF Board of Directors
FIFTH ADSOEF ANNUAL MEETING
Thanks to the more than 100 members and guests who attended the fifth ADSOEF Annual Meeting on Saturday, June 11, in conjunction with the OSO Leadership Conference. A special thank you to OSO President Debby Canter for scheduling the Annual Meeting during the Conference. Directors were introduced when they summarized their committee reports. The complete 2022 Annual Meeting Report, distributed at the Annual Meeting, is available on the Foundation website at adsoef.org by clicking on Annual Meeting 2022.

One highlight of the meeting was the announcement of the total to date of the Spark campaign which was $11.790.83 as of June 9. A heartfelt THANK YOU to all of our donors!

Another highlight of the meeting was hearing from the two A. Margaret Boyd Overseas Fellowship recipients, Gunel Alasgrova from Azerbaijan and Brenda Rojas from Paraguay. Gunel graduated in May 2022 from Kent State University with a master’s degree in education, and Brenda received an extension of her fellowship for the 2022-23 school year for her study at The Ohio State University. Thanks to chairman Marilyn Slusser who arranged for both young ladies to attend the Annual Meeting and luncheon.

Thanks to our members for your volunteer support, your generous contributions, and your attendance at the fifth Annual Meeting. You are the best!

FOUNDATION DIRECTORS AVAILABLE
TO PRESENT AN OVERVIEW OF ADSOEF
If your chapter members would like to learn more about ADSOEF, directors are eager to visit your chapter to make a presentation describing the opportunities provided through the Foundation and a brief overview of the structure and mission of the Foundation. Contact ADSOEF Chairman Sandy Royer if your chapter is interested.
FUNDRAISING THROUGH THE RAFFLE AND LUNCHEON
ADSOEF created quite a buzz at OSO Leadership Conference. Excitement was evident as members spotted the eleven items displayed for the Raffle. There was something of interest for almost everyone, including Beth Archer’s donation of a “mystery box.” Ask an attendee to find out who took home a gift! Gratefully the fun provided $521.00 to add to Be the Spark…Light our Flame. Thanks to all who donated an item, participated in the raffle, and contributed by buying tickets. Directors and Fundraising Committee members enjoyed talking with many attendees.
At the luncheon, traditional contribution envelopes were available for giving a gift to any fund for ADSOEF. Your gifts generated total revenue of $2,871.00. Thank you for willingly continuing to support the Foundation’s mission. DKG members are so very generous!

PICTURE THIS
This year when your chapter plans a fundraising project for ADSOEF (that’s the Alpha Delta State Ohio Educational Foundation), remember to snap a picture so we can share your successful idea in our ADSOEF newsletter.  Option 2 - If your chapter decides to donate, take a photo of members with the chapter check or donation basket.

Please label your email: Picture This ADSOEF
