Hello ADT members,
Nominations for the 2027 Bargaining Committee will begin today, January 15, 2026
and will close January 25, 2026.
In order to nominate a member to the Bargaining Committee you must be a member in good standing, please click the link below to nominate someone.
Nomination Form
Elections to the Bargaining Committee follow a two-stage process. First, we invite members to submit nominations, either nominating themselves or another member of the ADT workgroup. All nominees must formally accept their nomination.
After the nomination period closes, the Local will confirm acceptance with all nominees. Once confirmed, and if an election is required, all candidates will be placed on a ballot. Each candidate will have the opportunity to submit a brief statement outlining their relevant skills and experience, and why they believe they are the best choice to serve on the Bargaining Committee.
Following the conclusion of the election, the successful candidates will form your committee.
Your Bargaining Committee will include two USW representatives, USW Staff Representative Jayson Little and Local Union Representative Steve Durrell along with the two rank-and-file members who will be elected to the committee. The President of the Local retains the authority to appoint additional members should the need arise.
Commitment
Before nominating yourself, or someone else, please take a moment to consider the level of commitment required.
While the committee will operate on a part time model and every effort will be made to schedule meetings during regular business hours, the workload is real. At times, long hours, evening sessions, and occasional weekend meetings may be necessary to meet bargaining demands. Travel may also be required. Bargaining sessions, whether virtual or in person, are often lengthy and require detailed, verbatim note-taking.
A deep commitment to the Local, the members, and the bargaining process is essential.
If you have questions about this process, please email contact@usw1944.ca.
In Solidarity,
Ross Brown
Secretary-Treasurer
