ADTA 58 Call for Proposals
|
|
The ADTA welcomes proposals for the
58th Annual Conference in Denver, Colorado!
Proposals are due online by: February 28th, 2023, at midnight (EST)
Dance/Movement Therapy: Before, Between, Beyond Words
ADTA’s Annual Conference Committee encourages the dance/movement therapy community to explore how our work has been inspired by culture and expression, transformed by science and psychology, and propelled by visions of progress and change. We are being called to reflect, be mindful, and intentionally move forward as professionals, an organization, and as humans in service during this important, transformational time in human history.
If you are interested in submitting your presentation ideas for consideration in this year’s conference, take a moment to reflect on what the past, present, and future of dance/movement therapy means or looks like to you. In order to be considered for a workshop, potential presenters must submit a proposal through the ADTA 58 online form. Accepted proposals will provide an opportunity to present your work this November in Denver, Colorado. ADTA 58 will be an exceptional opportunity to share your professional work, reflections, and experiences on these sacred, beautiful lands, where the Great Plains meet the Rocky Mountains on November 9-12, 2023.
ADTA Annual Conference Committee acknowledges the unceded lands of Cheyenne, Arapaho, and the Ute peoples, indigenous to South Denver.

AJDT presents original contributions, case material, reviews and studies by educators and practioners in our field. In its pages we report the latest findings in dance/movement theory, research and clinical practice. The journal keeps all of us engaged in the development and promotion of our work. In addition, we are actively building on the presence of the journal on social media by way of our on line publication.
Our goal as co editors is to maintain strong, clear lines of communication with readers and writers. We are aware that all of us are juggling responsibilities across careers, managing the changes and challenges in our day to day life and its effects on our work, research and study. As your editors, we are adding to this a hope to build an even stronger editorial board for the journal. We are very interested in identifying readers who want to be peer reviewers and/or editorial board members. These may be your preferred way to engage! For any questions, please feel free to contact us at [email protected].
The scope of our publication is a wide embrace which includes graduates interested in publishing a dissertation or thesis, allied mental health professionals who wish to contribute to our work, and dance/movement therapists practicing innovative techniques, engaging new populations, and exploring new methods of training. We particularly want to highlight our commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion, and expanding our international reach. We will aim to support and nurture research and practice within our field to the best of our abilities, and provide the space to have more writers contribute their work to the journal.
We are here to keep readers informed on topics that matter so that our professional community is enriched. The path to publication begins at www.springer.com/10465

The American Journal of Dance Therapy (AJDT) is seeking to expand its pool of peer reviewers. The journal reports the latest findings in dance/movement therapy theory, research, and clinical practice, and peer reviewers are essential to this process. Peer reviewers should be well versed in APA Style (7th edition, 2020), be actively engaged in the field (through practice, teaching, and/or research), and have capacity to review articles throughout the year with a given deadline. We are looking for peer reviewers in all focus areas, based in the US and internationally, and also specifically encouraging interest from dance movement therapists working with children, older populations, and/or with an equity/diversity focus. If you are interested, please fill out the following form: https://forms.gle/GsPMD5bd12DHHXY66, or for additional questions, please contact [email protected]
