CM RODRIGUEZ TO ANNOUNCE FINAL DECISION ON LANDMARK DESIGNATION FOR HISTORIC LOEW'S THEATRE ON 175th ST. AND BROADWAY
New York, NY -- Tomorrow at 2pm, Council Member Ydanis Rodriguez will announce his final decision on whether or not he will vote to grant city landmark status to the historic Loew's Theatre on 175th Street and Broadway, also known as the "United Palace Cathedral" and the "United Palace for the Arts."
Council Member Rodriguez will join advocates and elected officials and community board representatives to announce his decision on a site that has received much attention since its affirmative vote from the Landmarks Preservation Commission.
The decision now rests at the City Council, which traditionally follows the vote of the member representing the location of the proposed landmark.
