New York, NY -- Council Member Ydanis Rodriguez will join striking workers TODAY at 4pm at the Domino's Pizza location at 181st Street and Fort Washington, after recent discord with their employer.
On the same day that the NYC Council reviewed legislation for a Fair Work Week for fast food workers, including the right for workers to receive a regular schedule two weeks in advance, workers uptown will strike over this very fight. Workers at this Domino's Pizza requested from their employer a regular and predictable schedule, but were instead met with efforts to reduce their hours at the restaurant. They now plan to strike, refusing to back down until their employers agree to these measures.
This same Domino's location was
the subject of an action by NYS Attorney General Eric Schneiderman in 2013, in response to reports of wage theft and wrongful termination by the shop's owners. Council Member Rodriguez worked to elevate these issues, standing with the workers fired for standing up for their rights in an ultimately successful struggle.
What: Council Member Rodriguez to Stand with Striking Workers at Domino's Pizza
Where: 181st Street and Fort Washington Avenue, Washington Heights, Manhattan
When: TODAY, March 3rd, 4pm
