New York, NY-On Thursday, November 21st, 2013, the NYC Council Committee on Higher Education will take part in a tour of the campus of the City College of New York. This tour will provide the members of the committee an opportunity to be informed about all that City College offers students, including space available to student groups and clubs on campus. City College's beautiful campus is the oldest in the CUNY system and it remains one of its senior colleges. It was founded as the "Free Academy" in 1847 with the goal of educating children of immigrants and lower income families. City College was the first institution of higher learning in the United States to offer free tuition.
